Speaking & Career Coaching

Speaking & Consulting

A sought-after speaker, Katie Kross has given talks on sustainability careers for graduate students and career services professionals at business schools including MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Yale’s School of Management, UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and NC State’s Poole College of Management–as well as at conferences such as the annual Net Impact Conference and MBA Career Services Council Conference.

She also consults to business school career centers and delivers advice to career services professionals about strategies and tools for supporting students interested in sustainability careers.

Career Coaching

Katie delivers advice and coaching directly to students through webinars, one-on-one career coaching, and small-group career coaching. Her coaching sessions focus on specific, actionable recommendations and resources. She helps candidates:

  • identify, refine, and articulate a sustainability job search strategy that marries career goals and passion (“dream job”) with an existing skill set
  • brainstorm additional resources to tap, companies to target, and networks to join in the sustainability/CSR space
  • develop creative strategies for building experience and industry credibility in a way that stands out
  • communicate sustainability experiences in a compelling way on a resume
  • inject fresh ideas and inspiration into a frustrated sustainability search

She works on contract with business school career centers to deliver coaching to current students.  She is also available for one-on-one career coaching by phone with individual students and professionals ($90 for a 45-minute session).
